I work with
students who have different levels of experience,
ability and goals. They've been total beginners,
"sidemen" moving up to lead singer, and members of
church choirs. I've had over 350 sessions since I
began coaching in April of 2003.
BEGINNERS
Do you suspect that you have a good voice? Maybe
you sing along in the car and think, "Hey, I can
carry a tune!" But the thought of opening your
mouth in front of anyone sends your heart rate into
the danger zone!
I know exactly how you feel because I was there. I
didn't muster up the courage to sing in front of
anyone else until I was in my mid-20's. Now I've
been performing in public since 1987. I have my own
band, Project Mercury , named "Best New Band" by
Hudson Valley Magazine in 2006! Taking voice
classes was definitely a brave thing to do; it was
also one of the best decisions I ever made.
I can help you take those first steps toward
fulfilling your dream, gently and supportively. We
build from there!
INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED
What if
you've been singing for a while, and now you want
to stretch beyond your comfort zone?
There is a
world of technique out there at your disposal. I
will help you hone in on your personal style and
cultivate it. We'll dip into the toolbox of
phrasing, dynamics, and expressing different
emotions.
Then there's
performance, my favorite thing! We'll work on
conquering your fears, "letting go," enjoying
yourself, connecting with the audience, microphone
technique and stage presence.
I have a
great ear for harmony, and I can help you with that
too!
